PolymorphiX (prototype: pmx_v2s)

Complete Pictoral Worklog on Overclock.net

Date: Ongoing 2009, 2010

Info: A concept case (prototype) that allows an upright standard PC case to convert to a horizontal tech bench configuration without the need for tools. After much revision and testing of both design and materials, this is pretty much the final frame version. Some more testing and design needs to happen with regards to the case shells, but more info will be available soon.

Crash Electric

Complete Pictoral Worklog on Overclock.net

Date: Feb - Mar 2010

Info: Scratch built steel case which houses an atx pc chasis. All of the case fan wiring runs to a custom power plate which holds a pair of vertical breaker box buss bars and is fed by 12V from the pc psu. All of the fan wiring is terminated to the buss bars like the wiring in a breaker box. The project was inspired by the electrical trade and the concept/design of breaker boxes. The "crash" part comes from the car crash I was in on the way home from home depot the day the project was starting.

PolymorphiX (prototype: pmx_v1s)

Complete Pictoral Worklog on Overclock.net

Date: August 2009 - November 2009

Info: A concept case (prototype) that allows an upright standard PC case to convert to a horizontal tech bench configuration without the need for tools. I commissioned fellow OCN modder Syrillian to make the outter acrylic shell, while I focused on the internal mechanism prototype. Since the making of this version, the prototype internal mechanism design has evolved into something much better. More on this soon.

Accolades: I declined MOTM nomination due to collaboration with another modder

CattleRustler's Tech Bench

Complete Pictoral Worklog on Overclock.net

Date: June 2009

Info: A quick and simple tech bench made out of MDF board and painted in satin black, to replace my Cosmos 1000 RC.

Accolades: I declined MOTM nomination since it was just a quick and dirty fab and build.

Butcher's Hook - Slipknot Tribute Tech Bench In Steel

Complete Pictoral Worklog on Overclock.net

Video: The Making Of Butcher's Hook (download zip)

Date: March 2009 - January 2010

Info: Inspired by the song titled "Butcher's Hook" by Slipknot. The idea just sort of came to me, and I merged the idea with my desire to, at some point in my life, try out welding - and here we are. I originally intended to have the whole thing chromed, but due to pricing I opted for black chrome powder coating. Fellow OCN modder CyberDruid provided powder coating services.

Greenie-poo - Acrylic Case

Complete Pictoral Worklog on Overclock.net

Date: Feb - Mar 2009

Info: Scratch built acrylic case for my daughter, features mini itx mobo and mobo "panless" design. This was a perfect quick winter mod, since my garage workshop was way too cold to work in. I moved the necessary tools into a spare room in the house and cranked out this cool little case :)
